Ukraine December 2016 (Including Imports)

A bit of an Ugly Duckling among the EV community, the FFE has found some love in the Ukraine.
If this model was a person, it would probably move to Odessa and spend the retirement days there...

Nissan Leaf First

Despite economic difficulties, EV's continue to press on in the Ukraine, thanks to the passionate effort of companies and associations, like emobilisEV UA or ElectroCars. This allowed the Ukraine to leap several steps in EV-adoption ladder and be one of the leading growth markets in the world.

In 2016 the Nissan Leaf represented once again the bulk of EV registrations (1.385), with the Ford Focus Electric (75 units) being a surprise in this market.

One of the distinguishing traits of this market is that most units are used imports, as official automaker importers are still skeptic, making this electrification effort even more meritable.

If local enthusiasts have their way, Ukraine will be one of those markets where the e-mobility transition will happen first, a sort of "Norway-upon-the-Black Sea"

Disclaimer about the ranking: Electric cars in Ukraine fall in two ways: the majority is imported from USA and EU small firms as a second hand, repaired and resold to the final owners. Another part of the EV are imported through large suppliers and dealers, and these are new EV or conditionally new (up to 2 years of use).

Incentives: A law was passed on November 25, 2015, a zero rate of import duty for cars with electric motors. It entered into force on 1 January 2016. That is, a year supply of electric vehicles in Ukraine was carried out free of duties. In 2016, sales of electric vehicles in Ukraine, according to AUTO-Consulting, rose 155% for new EV's, in used (second hand) EV - more than 550%.
